New Marker Parts for Exising Marker Repair and New Marker Installation
Keystone Markers consist of a distinctive cast metal Sign and and matching decorative Post, and in the case of the Front-Mount "Town Name" Marker, a "Ball" Finial.  The Keystone Marker Trust offers historically accurate metal castings for use in the restoration and repair of existing Markers, as well as for the creation of replacement or new Keystone Markers.  (Note: To assist with the restoration and repair of existing Markers and the installation of new ones, the Trust hopes to make grants available on a competitive basis, in the near future, to entities dedicating themselves to the Keystone Marker Trust Principles).

The Keystone Marker Trust is proud to partner with the Spring City Electrical Manufacturing Company of Spring City, PA, as the exclusive provider of new Front-Mount Keystone Marker Signs, Posts and Replacement Parts, as well as new Top-Mount Dual-Sided Keystone Marker Signs, Posts, and Replacement Parts.  Both are available in standard and PennDOT-approved breakaway mount varieties.  Spring City foundry has been in operation for over a century and a half, and is the world's premier provider of reproduction historic lamp posts, luminaires, bollards and other cast metal street furniture.  With such a long and storied history as a successful business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, they were the perfect choice to assist the Trust in resurrecting the Keystone Marker program.   See the press release about our partnership here.

KEYSTONE MARKER SIGNS
Highslide JS FRONT-MOUNT "TOWN NAME" MARKER SIGN, (See below to order matching Post) 
  • The most common form of Keystone Marker, originally installed by the PA Department of Highways to identify cities, towns, villages, trailheads, and even some river and creek crossings;
  • Signs are cast from historically accurate patterns, which maintain the size, layout and detailing of the originals, in accordance with the NPS Secretary of the Interior's "Standards & Guidelines for Reconstruction";
  • Text is integral to the Marker Sign, cast into the face using the original c1923 typefaces.  (Additional information such as "sponsorship" and date of fabrication can be added to the back-side of the Marker Sign at the time of fabrication);
  • Cost includes Sign, primed and painted in Keystone Marker Blue, with lettering in Keystone Marker Yellow.  (Note: Quoted prices do not include Shipping & Handling);
  • Most towns had multiple Keystone Markers and significant quantity discounts are available;
  • Matching decorative cast iron Front-Mount Marker Posts are also available, (See "Keystone Marker Posts" below);

TOP-MOUNT, TWO-SIDED "STREAM NAME" MARKER SIGN (See below to order matching Post) 

  • Used primarily for streams, creeks and rivers, though some towns had them as well;
  • Historically would have had identical text on both sides, and can be ordered this way;
  • Can be ordered with different text on each side for an extra cost;
  • Cost includes two-sided Sign, primed and painted in Keystone Marker Blue, with lettering in Keystone Marker Yellow. (Note: Quoted prices do not include Shipping & Handling);
  • Available in standard or breakaway mount styles approved by PennDOT. Customer supplies Dent breakaway mount bolts.

  • Can be adapted to meet PennDOT breakaway standards. Customer supplies Dent breakaway mount bolts.

  • Used atop the standard Front-Mount Marker Post;
  • Finials are cast in solid iron from historically accurate patterns, which maintain the size and profile of the originals, in accordance with the NPS Secretary of the Interior's "Standards & Guidelines for Reconstruction";
  • Available in both original Ball Finial types: "Tall" and "Short" Collar (see photos;  tall collar finial is at middle left; short collar finial is at bottom left), to match your Marker Finials;
  • Ball Finials currently available. Cost for single Finial, primed in neutral gray, is $65, plus Shipping & Handling.
